PEEP: The aPROcalypse, on December 21, 2012, with Steez featured on five tracks. But just two days later, Steez, 19, was found dead on a prominent thoroughfare in Manhattan’s Flatiron District. The young rapper had leapt off a building early in the morning before Christmas Eve, propelling himself so far that he landed in the street. Dewar left no note other than a terse last message he blasted out to his friends and fans on Twitter, one minute before midnight: “The end.” He jumped into the cold December night just moments later.

“The project started as a slow build with a few songs and then it become a challenge to do them all. Because it was a sample-based album, I wanted to keep the remixes sample-based and for them to have the same pitch, key and tone as the originals. The original beats were non-traditional and the amount of singing made it very difficult to remix with this intention of the same energy. It’s the result of countless hours of digging through records to sample, constructing the beat, wrapping it around the vocal, adjusting the tempo, and so on. ‘Quiet Dog Bite Hard’ was exciting because I was remixing my own track and it drew me into the process, and ‘Workers Comp’ was the most unique due to its complex time signature.”

Video:Live @ The Loft Season 3 - Oddisee
I had the opportunity to go see Oddisee last year but could not make it because I was working, a couple of my brothers (Carlos and Billy) went to see him and they rated his live performance as one of the best they've seen. I first knew Oddisee as a producer way back in the day and really only started noticing his skills on the MIC a few years ago, honestly most producer's that try to rap are straight WACK! but there is a few producers who I respect on the MIC and this genius right here is one of them. Shoutout to Live@theLoft , truely blessed to have you guys back! oh by the way Oddisee is mean with a camera too!! I seen some of his pictures, he needs an exhibition.lol!
